Hot Yoga Update...

It's hot. Don't let anyone tell you otherwise.

I got to the yoga studio early so I could get acquainted with the place. The teacher showed me around (which took like 3 mins) and showed me where the yoga room was when I was ready. People were already in there warming up, no joke. Once we got started, I got into the swing of things better than I anticipated. However, when every bit of you is dripping with sweat, holding a pose is extra challenging to say the least. I didn't even know your legs could sweat like that.

At one point, I guess the teacher noticed my couple sips of my water and said they like to wait so long before taking a water break so as not disturb your neighbor/some other odd reason. Um, so that rule won't fly with me. The nearly 100 degree temp calls for me to stay hydrated when I darn well please, ya know?! Besides that, ole Sally Sue to my left, huffing and puffing while doing the yoga moves and the man who decided to blow his nose (oh yeah, he sure did), were far more distracting. :)

Anywho, it was an hour class and throughout that time the teacher raised the temp. At 45 mins, I had to sit down. The last minute or two, you lay down and the teacher comes around and places a cool, lavender scented washcloth next to you. She then turned on some John Mayer, which I guess was to help us relax. The music kind of just made me laugh though. I think I managed pretty well, considering my intense aversion to heat and exercise. At the end, my face was beat red! Sooo embarrassing!

In the end, I don't think I'll go back again to hot yoga, but I'll definitely try regular yoga again. My best wishes go out to the folks who go to the 75 min and 90 min classes!

  7. I think I would die in hot yoga. I sweat a lot and get hot super fast. LOL Regular yoga is fun, especially when you start seeing changes like your arms are getting stronger and stuff. That's one of my BIGGEST weaknesses, my arms are not strong enough. Haha
